About our founder
Liz Kelly (she/her) is the owner and founder of Mother Luna and a certified motherhood coach. Her own motherhood journey, with its many ups and downs, inspired her to create a nurturing space for mothers to embrace the transformative experience of matrescence—the profound transition into motherhood.
After her first child was born, Liz found comfort in a mother support group where she could connect with other women through shared laughter and tears. Her second pregnancy, however, brought a new set of challenges. Her son was born with a brain disorder called Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum, and Liz experienced postpartum anxiety and psychosis. With the support of a postpartum therapist, she found a healing space to recover.
Though she had strong support from her husband and mother, Liz recognizes that the expertise of her birth doula, the women in her support group, and her therapist played a pivotal role in her healing. This experience inspired her to gather perinatal experts under one roof at Mother Luna, offering mothers a place to laugh, cry, and receive the care they truly deserve.
Liz holds a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s in Education. With years of experience as an early childhood educator, she has worked with Pre-K, Kindergarten, ELL, and nature-based parent & me classes.
She is also an accredited Mama Rising Facilitator, having studied with Amy Taylor-Kabbaz through her Mama Rising program, the only ICF-recognized coaching training based on the unique insight of matrescence and motherhood.
